It was hot and humid and unfortunately the gym was not airconditioned. All the vendors were in the gym. But we met lots of great folks, the classes were great and there were some beautiful yarns and fibers (of course, ours the best), and lots of books and weaving stuff. <br /><br />Our next venture is attending the Midwest fiber and folk show in Crystal Lake, Il. We will be out of doors in a tent. Hope to see some of you there.<br /><br />We are developing a wonderful line of luxury fibers, including cashmere, silk boucle, kid mohair and silk/alpaca blend. And for kids of all ages, we will soon have superwash merino in several weights in vibrant colors. Pattern support is being developed for all of the above. <br /><br />keep cool, JanetUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7161600790232920451.post-90236450603506831682009-04-13T13:09:00.000-07:002009-04-13T13:27:20.738-07:00<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGC5pLT5sch-SrKpgQPShij2YYCqo56QNsmyAXWzDn55tAG-9xtDxIxdVd0uhBGXI18EdS37-mk_HgSNWSS8npfIrjJLZBCSqWOzAo2kKpvVZ9Hyowoq3-6ych7EzyKgJXdom-Xi6CLXoU/s1600-h/IMG_0313.JPG"></a> <span style="font-size:180%;color:#ff0000;"><strong>We Are Back!</strong></span> <div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzIjw0R-Z7HYODbfA4QdhCsm-u-Xsr8k60vaSKQo7X2g0Rjcex8RJ5QdQasicue6ZJimmZkD9gSgzn7tUwo79DDRbDhpepAnAkoHFB_NoXIPfkp52H8ZUjpcrh9IKXbIaW2Nm7efLboW7W/s1600-h/scarf.JPG"></a><br /><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324270901001199026" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 235px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 314px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9k8onE4e_GLgbrazra_vK18wnS_R9jNfnH04nUmyCT2Q-0Iu5Boaczk9v5I3dhakSC5dSUctZlt74D5U1IAHGtinmyiHNSlvA5AK09YipnFp-oNg_RKTLqUox8xuN-13YDmBKJnqNXFI7/s320/scarf2sm.jpg" border="0" /></div><p>We have returned from the Greencastle Fiber Event. It was a cold and blustery weekend! We had a great time; sold lots of yarn, patterns, knitting needles and stuff.<br /><br />Here you can see one of my students work from the rigid heddle class. She chose rayon ribbon, blue singles and a cotton rickrack yarn to create her scarf.<br /><br />Janet and I are back in the studio dying yarn.<br />I am currenting working on a group of Alpaca yarns that will be coming out in the fall. New patterns, yarn and colors all created for Alpaca yarn. The Alpaca yarns are produced in the US; three ply sport weight yarn is a Missouri and Kansas grown fiber. These yarns will be both natural and variegated colors. We will have samples out shortly.<br /><br /></p><p></p></div>Leslie Carroll-Bartletthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12566306947227448474noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7161600790232920451.post-13772849835612325532009-03-09T09:03:00.001-07:002009-04-13T13:08:58.043-07:00<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMNK8mnPsERRJwGiRs4RKHtFOHdxKthFZBPrPwihUgMooQwDmjGatDEjMCbVFbRSgu5LmxMCK7cjkOarADS5RR4B3jJT4c656lfUuopLudTm3ufqJUra0zpf0LMdj_OhxKg-90bg51teBI/s1600-h/Fiber+%26+Folk+Art+Fair+08%27+020.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311221160996130450" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMNK8mnPsERRJwGiRs4RKHtFOHdxKthFZBPrPwihUgMooQwDmjGatDEjMCbVFbRSgu5LmxMCK7cjkOarADS5RR4B3jJT4c656lfUuopLudTm3ufqJUra0zpf0LMdj_OhxKg-90bg51teBI/s200/Fiber+%26+Folk+Art+Fair+08%27+020.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><span style="font-size:130%;color:#66ff99;"><strong>EVENTS on the road again!<br /></strong></span><br />Mar: 12-15: Fiber Retreat Jefferson City, Mo<br />Mar: 27-29: Alpaca show in Kansas City<br />April 8-15: The Fiber Show: Greencastle, Indiana<br />May- Leslie gone to Maryland Sheep and Wool, Janet stays home<br />June 24-28: Weavers Conference, Grinnell, Iowa<br />July: 15-20: Fiber show in Crystal Lake, Ill.<br />Sept: 10-14 Jefferson Co. We just received some wonderful new superwash merino in DK weight. Great for children's garments and so very soft. Lace weight yarns- we have them. Natural shetland in grey and white, alpaca/merino 50-50, and the fingering all wool. Our very special sock yarn has 2% sterling silver mixed throughout as well as a superwash merino, silk and nylon blend.<br />Like lumpy bumpy, well we have that as well. Janet has made up some beanies in that yarn. One skein is adquate. Great fun. As all of the above are in limited quantities except for the fingering wool, we do not have them on the web site as yet.<br />Keep checking our blog for more updated information. We love to hear from you as well.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7161600790232920451.post-48560678914164689442009-02-24T11:34:00.000-08:002009-02-24T11:40:11.469-08:00Hats Scarves and Handpainted Yarns<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcW76QTImESsZfe-mvpSmG3p0zcwqXceoKBE0aaDjL82r5rG1p0z_F0WNiz6FlCnvgMs9FqHWZEZKShGhQecqELN97oMEvAk37JcwqvAYQUs7fTJWIA13rVXuIH0DiYuCwamNguhHFsW_J/s1600-h/hats2.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5306450165298701602" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 190px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcW76QTImESsZfe-mvpSmG3p0zcwqXceoKBE0aaDjL82r5rG1p0z_F0WNiz6FlCnvgMs9FqHWZEZKShGhQecqELN97oMEvAk37JcwqvAYQUs7fTJWIA13rVXuIH0DiYuCwamNguhHFsW_J/s200/hats2.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Janet has some new and excited designs available to knit.
